The BPCC Lady Cavs (10-8, 3-5) pulled into a sixth-place tie in the Region XIV standings with a 77-75 win over the Paris JC Lady Dragons (6-12, 3-5).
The Lady Cavs have won two out of the last three games and back-to-back wins at Billy Montgomery Gym. BPCC had stellar games from Mi'Kaila Lews and Faith Robinson. Robinson gained her first triple-double with 17 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists. The 20 rebounds and 10 assists were personal bests for the West Monroe native. Mi'Kaila Lewis collected her seventh double-double of the season with 14 points and 15 rebounds. The duo is currently averaging a double-double for the season. Robinson is averaging 13.5 points per game and 11.1 rebounds. Lewis is averaging 15.9 points per game and 10.4 rebounds.
The Lady Dragons started the game with an early 16-12 lead after the first quarter. BPCC roared back and dominated the second quarter 26-10 and took a 38-26 lead into halftime. Paris JC closed the gap some in the third slightly outscoring BPCC by five and the Lady Cavaliers holding on to a 54-47 lead. The Dragons didn't hold back as they closed in within two points but did not do enough to surpass BPCC for the win.
Paris JC was led by Aerihna Afoa with 26 points. India Respress scored 15. Tayonna Robertson added 10 points and 9 rebounds.
Off the bench, Sha'Nia Davis also scored double digits for the Lady Cavaliers with 14 points. Aaliyah Stevenson netted 10 points.
The Lady Cavs will battle with the Angelina College Lady Roadrunners (13-6, 3-5) on the road in Lufkin, TX on Wednesday night. The winner will take sole possession of sixth place.
