The Sports Medicine Department

The Sports Medicine Department is a team of health care professionals including numerous team physicians and certified athletic trainer. Athletic trainers are health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to optimize activity and participation of athletes/patients/clients. Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, intervention, and rehabilitation of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions. The Bossier Parish Community College Sports Medicine staff is comprised a Certified Athletic Trainer, and some of the top physicians in the area.

Medical Documentation

The Sports Medicine Department at BPCC utilize Healthy Roster as their electronic medical record platform. This platform allows student athletes, coaches, doctors, and athletic trainers, to message/document in real time about injuries whether they are home or away, during practice of game. Athletes are strongly encouraged to download the app so that they can partake in their own healthcare and be able to access all of thier medical data in the palm of their hand in case of emergencies, or standard doctors visits.
