Kilgore Lady Rangers cruise to 79-51 win over BPCC Lady Cavaliers

BOSSIER CITY, La. - The Kilgore College Lady Rangers cruised to a 79-51 victory over the Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavaliers Jan. 22 at the Coach Billy Montgomery Gymnasium.

Kilgore's Sarah Matthews led all scorers with 21 points. Jada Hood scored 19 points for KC and Alba Garcia Camarena registered a double-double by scoring 10 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.

Rounding out the scoring for KC (16-4, 4-4 Region XIV) was Arielle Wilson (9), Annillia Dawn (8), McKenzie Brown (4), Tara Kessner (4), Kai Finister (2) and Trynadee Greenwell (2).

BPCC (3-16, 1-7, Region XIV) was led in scoring by Alexandria Pollard with 13 points and Autumn Goram with 10 points.

The first quarter of the game was marred by injuries on both sides. BPCC's Gabby Dodson was unintentionally hit in the face, and had to be helped off the court, eventually being transported to the hospital. KC's Ireneshia Johnson took a blow to the head and would not return to the game. According to the KC trainer, Johnson suffered a concussion. Later in the quarter, KC's Anilia Dawn collided with a BPCC player and was injured. Dawn appeared to have suffered a knee injury, but would return to action in the second quarter. Dawn finished the game with eight points.

The Lady Cavaliers return to action on Saturday, Jan. 25 when they travel to Athens, Texas to take on No. 4 Trinity Valley.
