Blinn uses strong second half to pull away from BPCC

BOSSIER CITY, La. - The Blinn College Buccaneers outscored the Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavaliers 52-38 in the second half to win going away 93-70 Wednesday at the Coach Billy Montgomery Gym.

Leading 41-32 after the halftime break, Blinn scored 29 points in the third quarter and 23 in the fourth to hand BPCC its third straight loss. The Buccaneers had five players reach double figures, including Alanna Spencer who scored a team-high 18 points. Gabriela Bosquez scored 17 points, while Mia Cherry added 15, Kristine Ezimako had 13 and Hailey Atwood added 11.

BPCC was led by Alexandria Pollard who scored a game-high 21 points. Rukiah Utley with 15 points and Jazmin Sanders with 10 were the only other Lady Cavaliers in double figures.

With the win, Blinn improves to 14-4 overall and 3-3 in Region XIV play while the loss drops BPCC to 3-14 and 1-5 in region play. On Saturday, Jan. 18, the Lady Cavaliers travel to Carthage, Texas to face the Panola College Fillies. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Panola College's Arthur Johnson Gym.
