Bossier Parish Lady Cavaliers took Saturday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 4-2 walk-off victory over BRCC at Bossier Parish Community College. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the seventh when Mckenzie Vestal singled, scoring two runs. The Bears got on the board in the top of the fourth inning after #6 laid down a sacrifice bunt, and #25 hit into a fielder's choice, eaching scoring one run. Piper Garcia doubled, which helped Bossier Parish tie the game at two in the bottom of the sixth.
Macie LaRue started the game for the Lady Cavaliers. The righty allowed six hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, strikingout nine and walking none. #2 stepped in the circle first for BRCC. She gave up eight hits and fourruns over six and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two.
Vestal provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Lady Cavaliers with two runs batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Madison Ruiz and Skylar Hegar each collected two hits for Bossier Parish. #5 and #27 each collected two hits for BRCC. #6 and #25 were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for BRCC. The Bears turned one double play in the game.
The Lady Cavaliers rallied to beat BRCC for a second time on Saturday winning 7-6. Bossier Parish trailed by as many as five runs during the game.
BRCC got on the board in the top of the first inning after K Dulyea singled, scoring one run, A Shaw scored after tagging up, and D Robinson homered to right field, scoring three runs.
Bossier Parish captured the lead, in the bottom of the sixth after Piper Garcis homered to left field, Graccee Godfrey hit into a fielder's Choice, Madison Ruiz doubled, Briana Deleon hit into a fielder's choice, and Ruiz stole home, each scoring one run.
Morgan Benge pitched fouring innings in relief for Bossier Parish. The reliever gave uptwo hits and zero runs while, striking out one and walking one. Rylee Glenn stepped in the circle for the Lady Cavaliers. The righty gave up two hits and five runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one. A Duhon led things off in the circle for BRCC. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and four runs over five innings, striking out one and walking four.
Skylar Hegar drove the middle of the lineup, leading Bossier Parish with two runs batted in. The firstbaseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Mckenzie Vestal went 2-for-4 at the plate for the Lady Cavaliers to lead Bossier Parish in hits. Ruiz led Bossier Parish with three walks. Overall, the team had a strone eye at the plate, tallying five walks for the game.
Robinson led Baton Rouge with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. She went 1-for-1 on the day. Dulyea went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead BRCC on hits. The Bears were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. H Abshire had the most chance in the field with four.
