Big 9-run second inning propels BPCC to 13-1 run-rule win over BRCC in game two

BATON ROUGE, La. – A nine-run second inning propelled the No. 9 Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavaliers past the Baton Rouge Community College Lady Bears 13-1 in five innings in game two of Monday's doubleheader. It was the 22nd run-rule win of the season for BPCC.

The offensive outburst by the Lady Cavaliers was led by Kennedy Cox, Samantha Eckert, Precious Aholelei, Uchenna Jong Loy, Dyllan Sanay, and Hailey Pence, all driving in runs in the big second inning.

In the inning, Cox and Sanay had RBI singles, Eckert a sacrifice fly, Aholelei and Jong Loy each had RBI doubles and Pence blasted a three-run home run.

Primrose Aholelei allowed just one run on four hits over three innings, while striking out five and walking one. Marisol Kennedy pitched two scoreless innings to finish the game. She gave up a pair of walk and struck out one.

BPCC collected 12 hits in the game, with Eckert, Jong Loy, Cox, Aholelei, and Sanay each having multi-hits for the Lady Cavaliers.

With the doubleheader sweep, BPCC improves to 42-6 overall and are just two wins away from equaling the highest win total in program history, which was set by the 2018 Lady Cavaliers who went 44-13.
