Kat Roth tosses a one-hitter as BPCC sweeps Paris with a 4-0 victory in game two of doubleheader

BOSSIER CITY - BPCC pitcher Kaitlyn Roth tossed a complete game one-hitter in game two of a Region XIV doubleheader to lead the Lady Cavaliers to a 4-0 win and sweep of the Paris Junior College Lady Dragons Saturday afternoon at the BPCC Softball Field. 

Roth, a sophomore from Wichita, Kansa, pitched seven innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out six and walking none. It was her sixth complete game and second shutout of the season. The win improved Roth's record to 11-5 on the season.

All of the Lady Cavaliers runs came in the bottom of the fourth inning. With the bases loaded, Kelsie Ward scored the game's first run on a wild pitch before Abi Cole would clear the bases on a line drive, three-run homer over the center field fence. It was the former Benton High standout's fourth home run of the season.

With the win and doubleheader sweep, BPCC improved its overall record to 23-9 and 3-5 in Region XIV. The Lady Cavaliers return to region play on Fri., March 29, when they travel to Northeast Texas to take on the Lady Eagles. BPCC's road trip continues on Sat., March 31 when the Lady Cavs visit Kilgore, Texas to face the Kilgore College Lady Rangers.
