Jarrett Clifton is in his second season as an assistant coach at Bossier Parish Community College.

During the 2021-22 season, Clifton assisted the Cavaliers to a 16-14 mark and the program’s first win in the Region XIV tournament. In his first season at BPCC, the Cavaliers won two games against Top 10 ranked opponents. Coach Clifton’s duties included player development primarily with the guards. The Cavaliers saw two student-athletes named All-Region XIV. Jaeden Marshall and Derick Hamilton were named first team and honorable mention respectively. Both Marshall (University of Nebraska Omaha) and Hamilton (University of Texas at El Paso) signed NCAA Division 1 scholarships.

Clifton comes to BPCC from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, where he was a graduate assistant coach from 2019-2021. During his time at ASU, the Rams placed fourth and fifth in the Lone Star Conference. ASU had a dramatic double-overtime victory against Lubbock Christian in the first round of the LSC Tournament. ASU earned a NCAA Division II tournament birth as a fourth seed during the 2019-2020 season.

During his two seasons at ASU, Clifton coached three players that were Second-Team All-Conference selections in Andres Ibargüen, Collin Turner, and Paul Williams as well as an All-Conference Honorable Mention in Devaughn Thomas.  

Prior to ASU, Clifton was a high school assistant and head coach in Pensacola, Fla., from 2014-2019. As a high school coach he coached four players that continued their basketball careers at NCAA Division I and NCJAA schools.

A Pensacola native, Clifton earned a bachelor of science degree in fitness and sport coaching from the University of West Florida. He went on to earn a master’s degree in coaching, sport, recreation and fitness administration from ASU.

Clifton was a brother of the Delta Eta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity while attending UWF.
