BATON ROUGE, La. - Bossier Parish Community College guard Paul King has been named the men's college basketball Player-of-the-Week by the Louisiana Sports Writer's Association. King was selected by panel of voters from the list of nominees for his play during the week of Feb. 17-23, 2020. King is the first Cavalier to receive the honor this season.

On Feb. 19, King came off the bench to score a career-high 31 points and lead the Cavaliers to a 77-75 come-from-behind victory over the Trinity Valley Community College Cardinals. He scored 19 of his 31 points in the second half. He was 8-for-16 from the field, including 3-for-8 from beyond the arc, and was 12-for-13 from the free throw line in the victory. Not only was the 31 points a career-high for King, but it was the most points scored by a Cavalier in a game this season.

King followed that outing by scoring a game-high 26 points to lead BPCC to an 88-86 road victory over Panola College on Feb. 22. King went 9-for-15 from the field, 3-for-6 on three-pointers, and 5-for-5 from the free throw line to lead all scorers.

The Monroe, La., native and Ouachita Parish High School product has helped lead Bossier Parish to an 18-10 overall record and 11-7 Region XIV record, which is the most conference wins since moving into the region.
