Bossier Parish Baseball is gearing up for an exciting season, with a perfect blend of experienced returners and fresh talent ready to make their mark. The team is looking forward to turning this mix into a recipe for success and making this year one to remember.
Returning players bring a wealth of experience and leadership to the squad. Veterans like pitchers Jaden Bahl, Garett Blanchard, Jake Skelly, Jake Guidry and Reid Wilson all have collegiate innings under their belt. Infielders Tyrus Hall, Hayden Stringfellow, Parker Gwyn and Andy Roman were pivotal in the last season and are expected to play crucial roles again this year. Outfielders Bennett Mittelsteadt and Daniel Pinkerton split time in centerfield for the Cavs and look to bring a wealth of experience back for their sophomore year. Sophomore Dylan Biddick was the team's leading hitter and looks to have a strong showing for his sophomore year and will likely play right field for the Cavs. The returners' familiarity with the game and their teammates is a significant advantage, providing a stable foundation for the team.
In addition to the seasoned players, Bossier Parish is welcoming a wave of new talent. Freshmen pitchers like Ben McKinnon, Brody Bower, Grayson Porter and Jack Holbrook. Transfer pitchers in Cameron Williams, Liam Cruichshank and Bryson Menard; transfer position players such as Jacob Poletto and Hunter Fontenot. Freshman Position players like Gianluca Montanaro, Ivan Beltran-Olmo, James Reina, Mason Sanders and Brandon Levy. Levy will also get his fair share of innings on the mound. Both Redshirt sophomores in Jacob Gillis and Zander Bretza will make an impact for the Cavaliers as well. Zander Bretza, who is a transfer, will play infield, as well as get innings on the mound. All newcomers of which have already shown promise in pre-season training. Their enthusiasm and skills are set to complement the experience of the returning players, creating a dynamic and versatile team.
Jaden Bahl (240), Tyrus Hall (244) and Zander Bretza (341) were all ranked in the top 500 for all of junior college baseball by Perfect Game.
Head Coach Bobby Gilliam is optimistic about the upcoming season. "We have a great mix of experienced players and new talent," he said. "The returners provide leadership and stability, while the newcomers bring fresh energy and skills. We're looking forward to a successful season."
With a strong roster and a positive outlook, Bossier Parish Baseball is poised for a standout year. The team is ready to take on the competition and make a significant impact, aiming for success and a memorable season in region 14 and beyond.
The Cavaliers will open up their season February 1st at 1 pm in Bossier City, La against the South Arkansas Community College Stars.
