Cavaliers down Northeast Texas CC

Bossier Parish Community College snatched the lead late in their 9-8 victory over Northeast Texas Eagles on Wednesday. The game was tied at eight in the top of the eleventh when #14 induced Dylan Biddick to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Biddick collected three hits in six at bats in the win. Biddick singled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning

 

The Cavaliers opened the scoring in the first after Emil Estrella doubled and singled in the third inning. Bossier Parish extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI walks by Hayden Stringfellow and Luke Bogan.

 

Northeast Texas Eagles made the score 4-3 in the bottom of the third after Ayden Terry doubled, scoring two runs, B Duff tripled, scoring one run, and Duff scored after tagging up. A single by Biddick gave Bossier Parish the lead,5-4, in the top of the fourth. The Eagles tied the game in the bottom of the eigth thanks to a single by Terry, and a fielder's choice by Anthony Carbiano.

 

Jake Guirdy stepped on the mound first for the Cavaliers. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and four runs over five innings, striking out two and walking four. Kevin Schoneboom stepped on the bump first for Northeast Texas. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and three runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two. John McDonlad and Truitt Anthony each appeared in relief for Bossier Parish.

 

Bossier Parish accumulated 16 hits in the game. Biddick, Tyrus Hall, and Estrella each collected three hits for Bossier Parish. Parker Gwyn and Bennett Mittelsteadt each collected multiple hits for the Cavaliers. Bossier Parish turned one double play in the game.

 

Northeast Texas tallied 13 hits in the game. Terry drove the middle of the lineup, leading Northeast Texas with three runs batted in. They went 3-for-6 on the day. Raef Wright, Derek Martinez, and Duff each collected multiple hits for the Eagles. Wright stole two bases. Northeast Texas ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game. The Eagles turned one double play during the game.
