Andrew Mills' four-hit day leads Bossier Parish to an 11-1 win over Joliet Junior College

BOSSIER CITY, LA – Sophomore Andrew Mills had four hits, including a walk-off two-RBI single in the eighth, to lead the  Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers to a 11-1 win over Joliet Junior College Wolves Wednesday at the BPCC Baseball Field.

Mills, who's from Murphy, Texas and a Plano East product, singled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the seventh, and had the game-winner in the eighth.

The Cavaliers pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning when Bobby Lada's double plated a run, and Adrian Minjares' ground out scored a run. BPCC would blow the game open by scoring four runs in the fifth inning. Anson Eldridge's two-RBI double scored Mills and Kyle Reece, who both walked.

BPCC started the scoring in the first inning when Elliot Hebert hit a solo homer. JJC knotted the game up at one in the top of the second inning on Jake Klepacz's solo homer.

Jayden Saylor got the win for the Cavaliers. He allowed two hits and one run over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Landon Foster, Jacob Gilcrease, and Kent Berry all go work in relief.

James Patock took the loss for the Wolves . He allowed seven hits and seven runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four.

With the win BPCC improves to 8-8 on the season, while the loss drops JJC to 5-4. The Cavaliers are hoping to move up their Region XIV series with Navarro College to Thursday, Mar. 12. The two teams are trying to get ahead of the predicted inclement weather this weekend.
