BPCC'S ALEXANDRIA POLLARD NAMED LSWA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK

 BATON ROUGE, La. –Bossier Parish Community College's Alexandria Pollard has been named the Women's College Basketball Player-of-the-Week by the Louisiana Sports Writer's Association.

Pollard, a sophomore center from Houston, becomes the first Lady Cavalier to be named the LSWA Player-of-the-Week this season. She was selected by panel of voters from the list of nominees and recognized for her outstanding performance from games played Feb. 3-Feb. 9, 2020.

The Texas native led the Lady Cavaliers in a pair of games last week at No. 11 Tyler Junior College and at home against Paris JC at home as she averaged 15.5 points and 20.5 rebounds and 33 minutes per game.

Pollard, who now has 10 double-doubles this season after her performances last week, set a single-game school record in blocks with 11 against Paris as she recorded a triple-double with 17 points, a career-high 22 rebounds, and the 11 blocks.

She had 14 points and 19 rebounds in 32 minutes against Tyler and made 13 of 16 free throw attempts. Pollard has posted four-straight double doubles.
