Bre Sha Richardson's double-double propels Lady Cavs to thrilling 86-79 overtime win over LSU Alexandria's JV

BOSSIER CITY - Freshman forward Bre Sha Richardson scored 11 of her game-high 31 points in overtime to lead the Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavaliers to a thrilling 86-79 win over LSU Alexandria's junior varsity team in the newly renamed Billy Montgomery Gym. Richardson's teammate Monette Bolden added 30 points to help the Lady Cavs start the season 2-0. 

Richardson, who's from Willis, Texas, also hauled down 11 rebounds on the night to register her first career double-double. 

With the game tied at 73 in overtime, Richardson scored six straight points, including an easy layup on a pass from teammate Waiaria Henderson, who found her open underneath on a dribble-drive down the lane. Henderson would have another beautiful assist on a bounce pass across the lane to Bolden, who made the layup and was fouled. Bolden would sink the free throw to complete the three-point play and put the Lady Cavs up 84-73 with less than a minute remaining in overtime. R

Trailing 34-29 at halftime, the Lady Cavs made up the deficit in the third and fourth quarters by outscoring the Generals 40 to 35. Henderson, a sophomore from Auckland, New Zealand, hit a three pointer with 1:34 left in regulation to put BPCC up 69-67. LSUA guard Marqueshia Thompson, who was the Generals leading scorer with 22 points, buried a 10-foot jumper to send the game to overtime tield at 69.
