Lady Cavaliers come out on top against Navarro College

Macie LaRue struck 12 batters as the righty led Bossier Parish past Navarro College 8-2 on Wednesday at Navarro College. LaRue gave up six hits and two runs over seven innings while walking four. Navarro College got on the board in the first inning after Katelyn Cooper doubled, scoring one run.

 

Bossier Parish Lady Cavaliers took the lead in the top of the third innning after Briana Deleon hit into a fielder's choice, Mckenzie Vestal douboled, and Deleon scored after tagging up, each scoring one run. Piper Garcia homered to right field, Scoring two runs in the top of the fifth for Bossier Parish. The Lady Cavliers added two more runs in the top of the seventh inning on three hits. Skylar Hegar hit a solo home run to left field, and Debra tofi singled, scoring one run.

 

Baylee Sales opened the game for Navarro College. She allowed seven hits and six runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking two.

 

The Lady Cavaliers piled up 11 hits in the game. Garcia drove the middle of the lineup for Bossier Parish, leading the Lady Cavs with three runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Vestal, Garcia, and Madison Ruiz, Tofi, and Hegar each collected two hits for Bossier parish. The Lady cavaliers were solid on defense and did not commit a single error. Morgan Womack had the most chances in the field with 12.

 

Estela Garza led the Bulldogs with two hits in three at bats from the leadoff position. Cooper and Tayden Alexander each drove in one run for Navarro. Alexander stole two bases. Navarro College worked the count all day, collecting four walks. The Bulldogs stole three bases in the game. Navarro turned one double play in the game.

 

Bossier parish snatched the lead late in game two in their victory over Navarro College on Wednesday. The game was tied at four in the top of the seventh when Piper Garcia homered to center field, Scoring two runs. The Lady Cavaliers got on the board in the second inning after Serena Hopkins hit a solo home run to right field.

 

Navarro College jumped into the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Bentleigh Inocenio doubled, scoring two runs, Leah Perales doubled, scoring one run, and Estela Garza singled, scoring one run. Bossier Parish tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a double by Briana Deleon, a sacrifice fly by Mckenzie Vestal, and a single by Skylar Hegar.

 

Rylee Glenn pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Bossier Parish. The reliever surrendered three hits and zero runs while, striking out three and walking one. Brielle Moreno led things off in the circle for the Lady Cavaliers. She surrendered four hits and four runs over three and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two. Chloe Booth led things off in the circle for the Bulldogs. She allowed nine hits and six runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out none and walking one.

 

Garcia provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Bossier Parish with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Garcia and Deleon each collected two hits for the Lady Cavs. Bossier parish were lights out on defense not committing a single error in the game. Hopkins made the most plays with six.

 

Inocenio and Perales were a force together in the line up, as they each collected two hits for Navarro. Inocenio led the Bulldogs with two runs batted in. She went 2-for-3 on the day. Navarro turned on double play in the game.
