Lady Cavaliers split with Paris JC

Both teams were strong in the circle on Monday, but Paris Junior College was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-1 victory over Bossier Parish Community College. Macie LaRue started the game for the Lady Cavs and recorded 18 outs.

Bossier Parish lost despite out-hitting Paris Juniore College seven to six. Mckenzie Vestal, Morgan Womack, and Taysia Constantino each Collected two hits for the Lady Cavs. Bossier Parish were the first to get on the board in the second when Constantino singled, scoring one run.

A homerun to right field by Kaitlyn Worsham gave Paris the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the third. 

 

LaRue began the game for Bossier Parish. The right handed pitcher gave up six hits and three runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking four.

 

Nova Montes led things off in the circle for Paris Junior College. The righty gave up six hits and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking three.

 

Constantino led Bossier Parish with one run batted in. The right handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. The lady Cavaliers were sure-handed in the field and did not commit a single error. Womack made the most plays with eight.

 

Worsham drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Dragons with three runs batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. Laci Berecochea set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Paris Junior College with two hits in four at bats. Kelsey Kovar led the Dragons with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing four walks for th egame. Paris turned one double play in the game.

 

Despite a tough loss in the first game against Paris Junior College. The Lady Cavaliers bounced back taking down Paris 9-7 in game two. Bossier Parish jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Mckenzie Vestal homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Taysia Constantino singled, scoring one run.

 

Madison Ruiz hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the second for the Lady Cavaliers. Laci Berecochea singled after a 6-pitch at-bat, which helped Paris Junior College tie the game at four in the bottom of the fourth.

 

Bossier Parish took the lead in the top of the fifth. Skylar Hegar hit a solo homerun to center field, to give the Lady Cavs the upper hand, 5-4.

 

Rylee Glenn pitched five and one-third innings in relief for Bossier Parish. She allowed five hits and four runs (three earned) while, striking out two and walking one. Brielle Moreno stepped in the circle first for Bossier Parish. The righty allowed four hits and three runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking two. Izzy Cornell led things off in the circle for Paris Junior College. The righty allowed eight hits and five runs over five innings, striking out one and walking none.

 

Bossier Parish Lady Cavs accumulated 13 hits in the game. Piper Garcia, Ruiz, and Hegar each collected two hits for Bossier Parish. Vestal, Ruiz, and Makinizie Stutts each drove in two runs for the Lady Cavaliers. Bossier Parish was dominate on defense and did not commit a single error. Garcia made the most plays with five

 

Berecochea led the Dragons with three runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Madison Reid and Berecochea each collected two hits for Paris Junior College. The Dragons did not commit a single error in the field. Berecochea made the most plays with six.

 

Bossier Parish Lady Cavaliers will travel to Navarro College next to face off with the Bulldogs in a Region XIV confrence match up.
