Lady Cavs Dominate Kilgore College

Madison Ruiz hit two home runs and drove in three as Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavs defeated Kilgore College 4-1 on Saturday at Kilgore College. Ruiz homered in the seventh and third innings.

Macie LaRue Struck out 13 batters on the day. The starting pitcher also allowed five hits and one run over seven innings while walking one.

A solo home run to left field by Ruiz put the Lady Cavaliers on the board in the top of the third.

Hope Hampton singled, which helped Kilgore College tie the game at one in the bottom of the fifth.

In the top of the seventh, Bossier Parish broke up the tie when Piper Garcia hit a solo home run to left field. Then a home run to left field by Ruiz followed to extend the lead to 4-1.

Kaylee Schmitz started the game for Kilgore College. She gave up four hits and four runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking three.

Bossier Parish turned one double play in the game. The Lady Cavaliers were sure-handed in the field and did not commit a single error. Morgan Womack had the most chances in the field with 13.

Hampton led Kilgore College with one run batted in. The catcher went 1-for-2 on the day. Trinity Edwards led Kilgore College with two hits in three at-bats. Edwards stole two bases. Kilgore stole three bases in the game.

 

Bossier Parish Lady Cavaliers dominate Kilgore College in game 2 with the help of Ruiz's Power. Madison Ruiz drove in five runs on three hits to lead Bossier Parish past Kilgore College 10-1 on Saturday. Ruiz hit a grand slam to center field in the first inning, scoring four runs, and doubled in the third inning, scoring one.

The Lady Cavs won thanks in part to eight runs in the first inning. Skylar Hegar homered to center field, scoring three runs, Makinizie Stutts doubled, scoring one run, and Ruiz hit a grand slam to center field.

Bossier Parish extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI doubles by Constantino and Ruiz.

Brielle Moreno Opened the game for Bossier Parish. The right-handed pitcher gave up four hits and one run over four innings, striking out none and walking none. Kaylee Schmitz Stepped in the circle first for Kilgore. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and three runs over one-third of an inning, striking out none and walking none. Rylee Glenn tossed one inning of zero-run ball for the Lady Cavs in relief. The right handed pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out none and walking none.

Serena Hopkins collected two hits for Bossier Parish in three at bats. The Lady Cavaliers did not commit a single error in the field. Hegar had the most chances in the field with 10.
