Primrose Aholelei's first career no-hitter leads Bossier Parish to sweep of Hinds

RAYMOND, Miss. - Bossier Parish Community College pitcher Primrose Aholelei threw her first career no-hitter to lead the Lady Cavaliers past the Hinds Community College Eagles 13-0 at Rene Warren Field. Aholelei's no-hitter came in game two of Tuesday's doubleheader, and helped BPCC complete the sweep of Hinds.

Aholelei, who's a freshman from Honolulu, Hi., tossed five scoreless innings, while striking out seven and walking three to improve her record to 3-2 on the season.

Haylee Ladner and Nicollette Blenker both went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the Lady Cavs offensive outburst, which collected 17 hits in the victory. Ladner had a double in the second inning and a triple in the fifth to go along with a pair of singles and a pair of RBIs. Blenker's three-run home run was part of the Lady Cavaliers six-run second inning. Home runs by Rebecca Shepherd and Haily Ebey and Ruby Butler's triple were also part of BPCC's big inning.

After hanging on for a 6-5 win in game one, the Lady Cavaliers completed the doubleheader sweep of Hinds and improved their record to 9-6 on the season. The two losses drops Hinds to 4-4.

BPCC returns to action this weekend when the Lady Cavs travel to south Texas to play crossover games with Region XIV south division foes Alvin Community College, Galveston College and Lamar Sate College-Port Arthur.
