Lady Cavaliers outlast Bulldogs in high-scoring affair

BOSSIER CITY - The Bossier Parish Community College Lady Cavaliers outlasted the the Navarro College Bulldogs 13-11 in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday at the BPCC Softball Field. Both pitching staffs had their hands full in the high-scoring affair took over three hours to play.

The Lady Cavaliers took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Ally Klein hit a solo homer, Rachel Yocum drew a bases-loaded walk to score a run, and Ruby Butler singled on a 1-1 count, scoring a run.

Dorrie Cormier picked up the win for BPPCC. Cormier surrendered eight runs on ten hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

In addition Klein's solo blast, which was her team-leading 14th of the season, Haily Ebey had a dinger in the fifth inning. The Lady Cavaliers tallied 13 hits in the game. Ebey, Butler, Rebecca Shepherd, and Klein all had multiple hits for BPCC.
