Five run third inning propels Bossier Parish to a 7-2 win over Trinity Valley in game one of doubleheader

BOSSIER CITY, La. - Bossier Parish Community College defeated Trinity Valley Community College, 7-2, in game one of Friday's doubleheader at the BPCC Softball Field. 

BPCC broke a scoreless tie in the third inning by erupting for five runs on three hits, including two extra base hits. 

Dorrie Cormier went seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out six and walking none to earn the victory for BPCC. Haily Ebey went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run and she drove in three runs to lead BPCC offense. Rebecca ShepherdRachel Yocum and Emily Hardy also collected multiple hits for the Lady Cavaliers. BPCC also tore up the base paths as the Lady Cavs swiped six bases in the game. Shepherd and Abi Cole led the way with two steals each.
