BOSSIER CITY, LA – Bossier Parish Community College freshman John Awoke was named Freshman of the Year Wednesday on the Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana basketball team for his efforts this past season.
The native of Alexandria, Virginia averaged 15 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. Awoke scored double figures in 22 of 31 contests and led Region XIV in three-point field goal percentage. His 15 points per game ranked top ten in Region XIV.
The 2023-24 LSWA All-Louisiana Men's Basketball teams were selected by a statewide vote of school sports information directors and media members.
