BOSSIER CITY, La. - Redshirt freshman forward Will LaPoole came off the bench and scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers to an 87-76 Homecoming win over the Paris Junior College Dragons Saturday afternoon at the Coach Billy Montgomery Gymnasium.

LaPoole, a Monroe, La. native and transfer from Southeastern Louisiana University, went 10-for-18 from the field, including 1-for-3 from beyond the 3-point arc, pulled down eight rebounds and had two blocks in the game. LaPoole's 21 points marked the 10th time (nine straight) he has reached double figures in the 12 games he's played since joining the team on Jan. 13.

Guards E.J. Clark, Aaron Gregg and Paul King also reached double figures for the Cavs. Clark and Gregg each had 15, while King finished with 14.

Playing with only six players, Paris kept the game close in the first half due to the hot three-point shooting of New Iberia, La. native JaQualon Lovette, who was 5-for-5 from beyond the arc in the first half. However, due to a strong defensive effort from King, Lovette would not score again, and finished the game with the same 15 points he had in the first half. Three other Dragons reached double figures, including Lamar Everd and Carl Parker, who both  scored a team-high 20 points, while Reggie Daniels chipped in with 15.

Leading 43-40 at halftime, BPCC took control of the game in the second half and kept a double-digit lead throughout the remainder of the game. The Cavaliers biggest built up as much as a 16-point lead with 12:18 left in the game.

With the win, BPCC improves to 15-9 overall and 8-6 in Region XIV, while the loss drops PJC to 8-15 overall and 3-11 in region play. The Cavaliers return to action Wednesday, Feb. 12, when they travel to Corsicana, Texas to take on the Navarro Bulldogs.
