Cavaliers down Centenary Gents

Bossier Parish Community College won big over Centenary Gents 9-2 Monday night.

 

The Gents got on the board in the second inning after Caleb Ickes was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Andy Roman grounded out, which helped Bossier Parish tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.

 

The Cavaliers jumped into the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Bennett Mittelsteadt singled, scoring one run, Dylan Biddick singled, scoring two runs, and parker Gwyn hit into a double play but one run scored. Jose Nunez opened the game for Bossier Parish. He allowed one hit and one run over one and one -third innings, striking out one and walking one. Will Riley opened the game for the Gents. The right handed-pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out none and walking one.

 

Emil Estrella, Jackson Sherren, Truitt Anthony, Owen Hillen, and Luke  Courville each threw shut out innings for Bossier Parish in relief.

 

Bossier Parish accumulated nine hits in the game. Biddick and Gwyn were a force together in the line up, as they each collected two hits for the Cavs while hitting back-to-back. Biddick went 2-for-3 at the plate as the outfielder led the team with two runs batted in. Bossier Parish were patient at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Roman and Estrella led the team with bases on balls each. Luke Bogan and Hayden Stringfellow each stole multiple bases for the Cavs. Bossier Parish stole six bases in the game. The Cavaliers turned two double plays in the game. Bossier Parish was lights out on defense not commiting a single error in the field. Bogen made the most plays with six

 

Gage Morris, Andrew Landry, and Trace Shirley each collected one hit for Centenary. Landry led the Gents with one run batted in. The Center fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Centenary turned on double play in the game.
