Angelina's Sean Bergeron strikes out 10 to lead Roadrunners past the BPCC Cavaliers in game one of doubleheader

BOSSIER CITY - Angelina pitcher Sean Bergeron allowed just four hits and one run, while striking out 10 and walking none, to lead the Roadrunners to a 4-1 win over the Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers in game one of a Region XIV doubleheader Monday at the BPCC Baseball Field.

Bergeron, a sophomore from Crosby, Texas, held the Cavaliers scoreless through five and a third innings. The lone BPCC run came on Hudson LaBorde's solo homer with one out in the sixth.

Angelina scored single runs in the first three innings of the game. Bergeron helped his cause with a two-out RBI double in the first which scored Rylan Meek, who had reached on a walk. A dropped fly ball in right field led to the Roadrunners second run. Drake Pierson's two-out RBI double in the third plated Meek, who led off the inning with a single.

After LaBorde's homer made it a 3-1 ballgame, Meek led off the top of the seventh with a solo shot off of the left field foul pole.

Will Hine absorbed the loss for the Cavaliers. Hine allowed four runs, three earned, on seven hits over six and a third innings.
