Panola cruises past Bossier Parish 13-4 in game one of doubleheader

SHREVEPORT, La. - Two big innings for Panola College allowed the Ponies to cruise to a 13-4 win over Bossier Parish in game one of Sunday's doubleheader at Centenary College's Shehee Stadium. 

Leading 6-4 in the top of the sixth, Panola erupted for seven runs on five hits and one Cavalier error to put the game out of reach. The Ponies sent 11 batters to the plate in the inning, eight before an out was recorded. 

After BPCC had taken an 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, Panola scored six runs in the top of the second on three hits, all extra-base hits, and one Cavs error. The big blow was a bases-clearing triple by left fielder Kade Clemens. Clemens went 2-for-5 in the game with a triple, two runs scored and he drove in four runs. 

Tyler Davis got the win for Panola. He lasted allowed just three hits and four runs while striking out eight in going the distance for the win.

Zane Morehouse took the loss for Bossier Parish. He went one and one-third innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out one.

Cavalier first baseman Hudson LaBorde went 2-for-2 at the plate with a double, a run scored and an RBI.
