Paris scores four runs in the ninth and holds on to beat Bossier Parish 7-5 in game two

BOSSIER CITY - Bossier Parish Community College lost the lead late in a 7-5 defeat to Paris Junior College on Saturday at the BPCC Baseball Field.

The Dragons were down 4-3 in the top of the ninth inning when Ian Groves homered on a 0-2 count, scoring three runs to give the Dragons a 6-3 lead. PJC would add another run on Trevor Rugg's RBI single which scored Zane Sloan. 

Brandon Morse earned the win for Dragons. He allowed one hit and zero runs over one-third of an inning, striking out one and walking zero. Jace Mapston and Cannon Davis entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Daxton Tinker started the game for Dragons. He allowed five hits and three runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven.

Hunter Shaw took the loss for Bossier Parish Community College. He allowed three hits and five runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out six. Jose Cabrera Jr. started the game for the Cavaliers. He allowed six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out 11. 

BPCC's Adrian Minjares had a dinger in the seventh inning and Collin Kirsch had a homerl in the fourth inning in the losing effort. Despite the loss, the Cavaleirs racked up 10 hits in the game. Kirsch and Minjares each had multiple hits for BPCC.

With the doublheader sweep, PJC improves to 16-15 overall and 5-6 in Region XIV play, while the losses drops Bossier Parish to 18-10 overall and 4-8 in region play. BPCC returns to action on March 28 when the Cavaliers travel to division-leading Panola College.
