BPCC rally falls shorts as Cavaliers lose 4-3 to PJC Dragons

BOSSIER CITY - Bossier Parish Community College's effort to come back from down four runs in the fourth inning came up just short, as they fell 4-3 to the Paris Junior College Dragons on Saturday at the BPCC Baseball Field.

BPCC scored three runs in the failed comeback on a double by Kyle Jones and a single by Collin Kirsch. The Cavaliers had the potential tying and winning runs at second and first with only one one when Zach Lee struck out and Ty Dragos flew out to end the game.

The Dragons took the lead in the first inning when Ian Groves homered on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs.

BPCC would rally in the fourth inning with three runs as Kyle Jones and Collin Kirsch each had RBIs in the big inning.

Zach Norris earned the victory on the mound for Dragons. He went six innings, allowing three runs on ten hits and striking out eight. Jack Engelmann threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Zane Morehouse took the loss for Bossier Parish as he went four innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out three.

PJC hit two home runs on the day, Groves' coming in the first, then Nick DeNicola's homer in the fourth ended up being the difference in the game.

BPCC banged out 10 hits in the loss, with Kirsch, Will Doughty, and Adrian Minjares all collecting multiple hits for the Cavaliers.
