BPCC Cavaliers capture 16-2 run-rule win in game one of three-game series with PJC Dragons

PARIS, Texas - Bossier Parish Community College ran off with the lead late in the game in a 16-2 victory over the Paris Junior College Dragons on Thursday at H.L. "Hub" Hollis Field.

The game was tied at two with BPCC batting in the top of the fourth when Hudson LaBorde homered on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. The Cavaliers secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the fourth inning. The rally was led by doubles by Ty DragosKyle Jones, and Bobby Lada, singles by Adrian Minjares and Collin Kirsch, a sacrifice fly by Kanin Dodge, and a home run by LaBorde.

Dylan Collins was credited with the victory for Bossier Parish as he pitched five innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out five. John Altman took the loss for Dragons. He surrendered six runs on six hits over three innings, striking out one and walking zero.

BPCC tallied two home runs on the day. Lada had a long ball in the fifth inning. LaBorde went deep in the fourth inning.

Bossier Parish collected 17 hits on the day. Dodge, Kirsch, Dragos, LaBorde, Will DoughtyZachary Lee, and Lada all had multiple hits for the Cavaliers. Dodge went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits.
