Dylan Collins tosses a gem to lead Bossier Parish to an 11-0 win over Northeast Texas

BOSSIER CITY - Starting pitcher Dylan Collins tossed a complete game, one-hitter to lead the Bossier Parish Community College Cavaliers to a 11-0 run-run win over the Northeast Texas Community College Eagles in game one of a doubleheader Saturday at the BPCC Baseball Field.

Collins, a freshman from Colquitt, Ga., faced just one batter over the minimum while recording a season-high 10 strikeouts. The lone Eagle to reach base was designated hitter Matt Scheurich, who led off the fourth inning with a bloop single. With the win Collins improves his record to 2-0 on the season.

The Cavaliers scored 11 runs on 13 hits in the game. Leading 7-0 in the bottom of the sixth, BPCC scored four runs in the inning before the game was halted due to the mercy rule. The final two runs came on shortstop Bobby Lada's two-RBI double. BPCC right fielder Gavin Pelletier paced the Cavaliers offensive attack as he went 2-for-3 with a triple, a home run, a sacrifice fly and five RBIs. Designated hitter Adrian Minjares had three hits in the game, while catcher Ty Dragos and second baseman Kanin Dodge each had two singles and a RBI.

NTCC starter Chandler Mauldin took the loss for the Eagles as he allowed seven runs and seven hits to the Cavaliers. His record falss to 2-3 on the season. 

With the win, BPCC improved to 12-1 overall and 2-0 in Region XIV play. The loss dropped the Eagles to 4-12 overall and 0-2 in region play.
