BPCC completes the doubleheader sweep of TCS with a 16-5 win in the nightcap

SHREVEPORT - Bossier Parish Community College completed a doubleheader sweep of TCS Post Grad Academy with a 16-5 win in the nightcap Wednesday at Centenary College's Shehee Stadium.

Leading 4-0, the Cavaliers blew the game open with a five-run third inning. BPCC would add a run in the fourth to go up 10-0, before TCS rallied for five runs in the fifth. Four of those runs coming on one swing of Klayton Henderson's bat as he belted a grand slam over the right field wall. TCS added another run to cut the Cavs lead in half.

Bossier Parish would respond by scoring five runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower by BPCC was led by Kanin DodgeZachary TrangmarAndrew Mills and Layne McLin, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Zane Morehouse tossed three innings of scoreless ball for the Cavs. He didn't allow a hit, while striking out two and walking one. A number of pitchers entered the game as relievers with Casey ToddDylan CollinsEthan Maxey, and Hunter Roussell all securing outs and ultimately the victory.

Bossier Parish scored 16 runs in the game, which marked the fifth time in seven games the Cavaliers have scored in double digits. BPCC also pounded out 14 hits in the nightcap. Collin KirschTy Dragos, and Bobby Lada all had two hits for the BPCC. Kirsch, a freshman from Notre Dame of Crowley, paced the Cavaliers offensive outburst with a double and three RBIs.

With the twinbill sweep, BPCC is off to a 7-0 start, its best in well over a decade. The Cavaliers will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 20 when they travel to Tyler Junior College to battle the Apaches in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
