Big second inning propels Cavaliers to 6-2 win over TCS

SHREVEPORT - Bossier Parish Community College uses big four-run second inning to win game one of a doubleheader 6-2 over TCS Post Grad Academy here Wednesday at Centenary College's Shehee Stadium. 

Witht the game tied 1-1, BPCC took the lead on back-to-back doubles by Adrian Minjares and Will Doughty. A single by Coleman Nerren put runners at the corners before Kanin Dodge's sacrifice fly scored Doughty. Hudson LaBorde's second double in as many at-bats plated Nerren to give BPCC a 5-1 lead.

Will Hine got the start on the mound for the Cavaliers. He allowed two runs on four hits over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Jose Cabrera Jr., picked up the win as he tossed two scoreless innings in relief of Hine. Cabrera did not allow a hit, walked two and fanned three in earing the win. 

Dodge, LaBorde, and Minjares each had two hits for the Cavaliers. LaBorde and Minjares also had two RBIs in the game.

With the win, BPCC improves to 6-0 on the young season. Game two of the scheduled doubleheader is set to being at 3:30 p.m.
