BOSSIER CITY, La. - Thirteen Bossier Parish Community College student athletes were recently named to the National Junior College Athletic Association Region XIV Athletic Conference's All-Academic Team.
"Our student athletes are an immense source of pride for our college," said BPCC Chancellor Dr. Rick Bateman, Jr. "We couldn't be more proud of what they have accomplished this year, both in the classroom and athletic arena. They have truly exhibited excellence through their hard work and dedication."
"All of our student-athletes at BPCC work hard daily to be champions in the classroom, in the community, and in competition," said BPCC Athletic Director John Rennie. "We are especially proud of the student-athletes that have gained recognition of being champions in the classroom as part of the Region XIV All-Academic Team."
The 13 BPCC athletes were part of a group of 130 student-athletes competing in 12 sports from 10 Region XIV member schools who met the following standards:
- Must have completed at least 36 hours of college work of courses that leads toward a degree.
- Must have an accumulative grade point average of 3.25 or better on a 4.0 scale of non-developmental courses only.
- Must have participated in at least one season at the varsity level at the college from which they are nominated.
- Must have lettered on one or more sports recognized by the Region XIV Athletic Conference
The athletes received a certificate signifying their achievements from Region XIV Athletic Conference.
